Sala LuceraThe Concert Society “Amici della Musica G. Paisiello” of Lucera (Foggia) was founded in 1984 to divulgate classical music, to promote young musical talents, particularly from Puglia, and to open the city of Lucera to an international artistic landscape. Founders of this cultural enterprise were and still are the President Prof. Elvira Calabria and the Artistic Director Maestro Francesco Mastromatteo.
The focal center of the society is the concert hall “G. Paisiello” (100 seats) and the connected rooms with six pianos used for the concert activity as well for didactic purposes.
This hall is the generous gift of Calabrìa family, in particularly of Prof. Elvira, central figure in Lucera’s culture, and Dr. Rosanna Calabrìa, courageous advocate of the projects of the society.

The wise vision and the managerial skills of Enzo Mastromatteo transformed the love for classical music of Calabrìa’s family in a cultural cradle of international dimensions with a constant growth of public and activities.
Today the “Amici della Musica di Lucera” has 70 main donors and a concert series with 14 events centered on vocal and instrumental chamber music. The cultural activities include master-class and conferences of musical as well general artistic content. The society has also a resident ensemble lead by violinist Maria Saveria Mastromatteo.
Nowadays the founders of the society have been joined by a new Artistic Director, the cellist Francesco Mastromatteo, doctorate candidate in Cello Performance at the Butler School of Music of the University of Texas at Austin.
